Can you take a great headshot on your smartphone?

If you've seen some of my other blog posts, you'll know that I'm a fan of teaching folks how to get better photos - even if on their smartphone - and I also educate people on when that may not be the best option.

Recently, some lovely friends gave me 5 minutes of their time to help me create this blog post. Their payment? A new headshot of course! :)

First, I asked them to take a headshot via their smartphone.

​Then I asked them to let me take a headshot.

While I do think smartphones are amazing (I love my iPhone 8 Plus!), I encourage people to consider their needs for the photos they use. Sometimes your smartphone does exactly what you need it to - and other times it doesn't.
